Create a shortcode
Just to refresh your memory, when you want to either send or receive verses of the Bible to your friends and family via SMS, you need a shortcode. A shortcode is a keyword that is comprised of the following three parts:

- A specific book from Bible
- specific chapter of that book
- A specific verse from that chapter

With this shortcode you can then make use of the BibleSMS service. Although you can put together a shortcode yourself by choosing your favourite book/chapter/verse, you may also "browse" the Bible and selectively put together a shortcode by making use of the shortcode generator below.

In order to send a short code to your family or friends simply place their cellphone number after the generated shortcode. An example of the SMS would be: "bible james 1:3 0721234567". This will automatically send the Bible Verse to the cellphone number 0721234567.
